Krudo Studio

Krudo Studio is a ceramic design studio founded in 2017 by Camila Capra. Originally based in Santa Ana a small town in San Jose, Costa Rica, the studio focuses on the creation of ceramic objects ranging from vessels, dinnerware, and experimental objects for both functional and decorative use. The Studio is now based in Tilburg, NL.

My practice explores the relationship between subject, object, and space through clay as an affective and ephemeral material. I am interested in the relationship we establish with the objects and spaces that surround us, and how these become imbued with memories, meanings, and emotions over time. 

By working with a material marked by the memory of bodily gesture, the process becomes a central axis of my practice, paying special attention to glitches and moments of rupture as spaces of transformation. 

Themes such as identity, memory, and grief are recurring in my work. I approach loss not as an absence, but as a container of knowledge: something that accumulates and transforms. I work from personal and borrowed memories and stories, understanding the act of sharing as a fundamental gesture within my practice.
